Major League Soccer look set to attract another big name outfit to its shores after news broke that new MLS side Orlando City are in talks with AC Milan about signing former Brazil International Kaka.
Orlando City are due to begin playing in MLS next year, and have began their preparations by targetting 32 year old Kaka as their main target. The club have now confirmed that ‘advanced discussions’ are under way with the former Brazil international forward.
A statement from the Orlando club said :
“Orlando City Soccer Club is in advanced discussions with Kaka.
Pending completion of the potential player agreement, Kaka would join Orlando City SC in January 2015 prior to the club’s first season in Major League Soccer.”
If Kaka does arrive in MLS next season he will join some big names like David Villa and Frank Lampard who will join the league for next season.
The Orlando franchise is an intriguing one given the locality of Orlando City and the amount of tourists that visit the area. It is hoped that that will translate in bodies through the gate and create a unique atmosphere in Florida.
