Manchester United target Toni Kroos has admitted that he is expecting to still be at the Allianz Arena next season. The Bayern Munich midfielder has been offered an extension by the club but has so far not been able to agree the new terms.
Kroos who is entering the final 12 months of his existing deal with the Bundesliga champions, won’t be offered better terms according to Bayern president Karl Hopfner.
The 24-year-old German international has no problems with Bayern’s stance and says that he understands their decision. Speaking to Bild, Kroos said :
“I am expecting to play for Bayern Munich next season. There was a lot of speculation, but Manchester is and was not an issue.
At this point in time I am fully focused on preparations for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
I know that I have to accept and respect the recent statements of the authorities at Bayern Munich.
Still, honestly, I did not expect anything else in that respect after I had turned down the offer of a new contract I received from the club at the start of the current calendar year.”
