As some of you may know David Fehily aka @lcabbabeh released his first book this week called, The Everton Domingo Sermons. The book is a collection of eleven stand alone ‘sermons’ of Everton players and is an excellent read.

The subject for today’s lesson as you will have noted , is NOT a person , an’ given that it is a building , an’ it IS NOT , , I feel it only apt , that today’s Sermon is focused upon Prince Rupert’s Tower , or Everton Jail .
The early days of settlement’s within both the Town of Liverpool , and it’s surrounding encampments of Wavertree and Everton , saw the need – given it IS us , after all ; for a Bridewell or holding jail , or lock up , due to locals increasing fancy for gettin’ bladdered .

I am currently in the process of compiling a Book of , The Sunday Sermons . It has been my task of late , to decide whom is IN , and whom not . The recipient of today’s Focus is a Goalkeeper , easily the least populated position throughout the History of this fine Instition . Are there any other Clubs with Goalkeepers as #1 & #2 in Appearance Records , with another – Westy , staying for 12 years , 2 League Titles and an F.A. Cup Victory ??? Unlikely , I’d wager . Our subject today was , alas , none of the above , nor was he a Winner in the Green of Everton , though he did come damn close . He was also , upon signing , the most expensive Goalkeeper in the U.K. after his £80,000 transfer from Huddersfield Town .
