Everton : Is 352 the perfect formation ?


352 for Everton?

Last Saturday’s game saw something we haven’t seen too often during David Moyes Everton career , a change of formation. Ever since playing his tried and trusted 451 at Old Trafford in August 2004, the Blues boss has had that as his preferred formation. Admittedly, it was too accommodate Tim Cahill more often than not but since the Australian’s departure from Goodison, Moyes has chosen to play Marouanne Fellaini in that role.

Chiellini : Bayern were too strong !


Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini has admitted that his could not cope with Bayern Munich during their 2 nil defeat in their Champions League Quarter Final.

Chiellini was impressed with the intensity shown by the Germans, after Juventus’ 490-minute European spell without conceding a goal was ended in the opening minute. David Alaba scored after just 25 seconds to breach Juve’s solid defence and in the process scored the Competitions second fastest goal ever.

Former Real Madrid star Zinedine Zidane has spoken about his admiration of Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale’s form this season. Bale has been linked with a move to the Spanish Giants this summer and these comments will only re-ignite those rumours. The Welsh winger has been in scintillating form this season and has been instrumental in Tottenham’s chase for Champions League football next season.

As I take my seat in the Gwladys street just to the left of where Tim Howard and Jan Mucha are warming up , I survey my surroundings. I look to the park end with a regret due to the scoreboard no longer being there, I glance over at the Bullens to check how many Stoke fans are filtering through into our home, before moving my eyes up and down the main stand. For no particular reason I do this whenever I manage to go the game. Wherever it is I am lucky enough to be sitting I take in Goodison in all its glory, because it is glorious, those that have the slightest understanding of football know this, those that believe football began in 1991 probably don’t.
